Robin

Name: Robin May
Interests, hobbies, obsessions, perseverations etc: Throughout my life I've been interested in public transport in London. At first it was tube trains, then recently it became rather more general, and now at the moment I'm particularly interested in buses in London. I'm also interested in photography (this really got started because of an interest in photographing buses), computers, music and politics.
Year of birth: 1984
Profession, area of study, etc: Sociology, although it's not going very well at the moment
Where you live in the world: London!
Marital status, # of kids etc.: In a long term relationship with my girlfriend Katie (NT), no kids.

Comments: I first suspected I had Asperger's Syndrome (AS) after my brother was diagnosed and I read a book about it that we bought. This was in mid 2000. It seemed to fit me so I saw the person who had been seeing my brother. At first she was reluctant to refer me but after I explained the reasons for me thinking I had AS, she did refer me. I was diagnosed with AS in early 2001. I refer to myself as autistic because the more I learn the more it seems there is no clear distinction between AS and autism.

In the photo I'm pulling one of my photo faces which basically all involve widening my eyes a lot, so I probably don't look quite like that most of the time. I'm on RM8, the first > production Routemaster (a bus), so I'm certainly being my autistic, bus-obsessed, self.
I think you can often identify a person as autistic by the photos they take. My website contains pictures of buses, buildings, cameras, flowers, and will soon even contain a pylon or two and some train related things. I think that's probably about as autistic as photos get.
