Name: David Nicholas Andrews
Interests, hobbies, obsessions, perseverations etc: *interests- psychology, philosophy, mathematical physics, archaeology t-mediaeval/industrial particularly);
*hobbies- music (guitar, bass, drums, vocals, mandolin, and I'm still crap at fiddle): I have my own studio to work in, and I write songs whenever I get the chance; reading: I like things like Terry Pratchett , Douglas Adams, and a couple of others, but I tend not to read a lot of fiction;
*obsessions- none really.... deep interests, yes...obsessions, no!
*perseverations- shitloads of these! You don't want to know.... but they centre around how society doesn't work!

Profession, area of study, etc: trained at basic level as an assistant-level psychologist (freelance & voluntary whilst I study), have BA-status with a UK university and will shortly get my Post-Graduate Certificate in Special Education (in Applied Educational Psychology) from there, and this is leading on to an MEd ultimately.
Where you live in the world: Kotka (town in South East Finland)
Marital status, # of kids etc.: pissed-off divorced guy, one beautiful daughter; would like to be with somebody but probably will not be for the foreseeable future.

Society is not really all that good to autistic people. There has been an autistic culture developing since the internet began, and it seems that this culture is pissing a great many of the cure-bie organisations off, since we're suggesting that it might be better for society to change and accommodate us (the way it wants us to accommodate it) than to go round offering to cure us: the vast majority of the time, it isn't the autism that's the problem.... it's society's handle on it. And how it uses that handle to beat us up with.
